Keeley Pratt,assistant professor, Department of Human Sciences: Human Dev. & Family Science/Couple & Family Therapy Programs, presents “Incorporating family strengths and relationships into physical activity and dietary interventions for children and families”.
Pratt will provide an overview of the current family-based obesity prevention and treatment interventions for school-age children and families. Special emphasis will be given to interventions that have been culturally-tailored for African American children and families. Finally, Pratt will conclude with the preliminary results of a recent project she conducted to explore the strengths and family relationships that are associated with dietary and physical activity behaviors among African American families with a school-age youth.
