The Buckeye East Asian Linguistics Forum is a one-day event with keynote lectures and poster sessions. Invited keynote speakers this year are Professor Ik-sang Eom, Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea, presenting a lecture on “Why are some Korean words similar to Japanese and Old Chinese?” and Professor J. Marshall Unger, Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures, The Ohio State University, presenting “How many syllables are reflected in Early Middle Japanese yo? From one end of Japanese language history to the other.”
The event is free and open to the public. Register by Oct. 15.
