"It often seems to me that the night is much more alive and richly colored than the day." - Vincent Van Gogh
For ages, artists have used night as a metaphor to represent a variety of ideas, events, or emotions. From peaceful rest to macabre rituals to light-hearted humor, night can embody the many aspects of the human condition. “Of The Night” celebrates these diverse perspectives in the works of five composers: Shadow Rituals, Michael Markowski;A Little Night and Day Music, Samuel Adler; Night Dances, Bruce Yurko;Moon by Night, Jonathan Newman; The Midnight Fire Alarm, Harry J. Lincoln/arr. Krance.
