The Department of Dance presents Dance@30fps: A Screening of Contemporary Dance Films, at the Gateway Film Center, 1550 North High St. The series of shorts starts at 7 pm; the feature film starts at 8:30 pm. $5 tickets at the door are valid for both screenings. View the trailer.
Shorts include: Outside In (Sweden), Falling (England), Svefn-G-Englar (Iceland), Tralala (France), Alt i Alt (Norway), Choros (USA), Contact (USA - by Mitchell Rose, Department of Dance), A.P.A.A.I. (Spain), and Stronger (England).
The feature film is Soul Train: The Hippest Trip in America, by J. Kevin Swain (USA), a documentary celebrating Soul Train's impact on pop culture, music, dance, and fashion.
