Design Alumna Talk: Melissa Quintanilha
Event Host: Department of Design
Melissa Quintanilha, who earned an MFA in design at Ohio State, will present a talk Thursday, Oct. 23, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in room 141 Sullivant Hall. Her discussion -- "The Future of Interaction Design: Off the screen and into our lives" -- explores the fact that humans use our bodies to communicate, to process the world and to learn. Yet, the current interaction with technology is limited to the screen, making it a primarily visual and touch interaction. It is time for desingers to think about how our relationship with technology can be improved by paying attention to how humans inhabit the world. Quintanilha is senior designer at FUSE Labs, Microsfoft Research. The talk is free and open to all.
