To kick-off its centennial season, Piatt Castles in West Liberty, OH, will hold a public humanities program on Monday, May 25 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Five English graduate students (Andrew Sydlik, Emily Corey, Ebony Bailey, Matthew Connolly and Ayendy Bonifacio) will present their research on 19th-century culture and poetics, including topics on the poetry of Sarah Piatt, concepts of disability in the U.S., Irish immigration, ideas about marriage, and images of African-American women.
This event is sponsored by Piatt Castles, The Mac-A-Cheek Foundation for the Humanities, The Columbus Foundation, and the Department of English at Ohio State.
