Cross- and interdisciplinary activities and relationships play important roles in the experiences of students whose research interests and professional goals involve literacy. The Graduate Interdisciplinary Seminar in Literacy Studies, or GradSem, formed in 2005 to meet this objective. The group includes students at every stage of study from across the University. They meet monthly for lunch and a program. This year the programs take up questions at the intersection of literacy studies and translation studies. At the March meeting, participants will discuss the connections between literacy, translation, and health care.
Organized by Sirad Shirdon (Teaching and Learning) and Katherine Randle (Public Health).
Interested students should contact Nora McCook.
