Institute for Population Research's 8th Annual Joan Huber Population Lecture features guest speaker Dr. Andrew Cherlin (Benjamin H. Griswold III Professor of Public Policy and Chair of Sociology at Johns Hopkins). He will lecture on The Rise and Fall of the Working-Class Family. The working-class family peaked in the mid-twentieth century and has been in decline since then. This presentation will discuss the factors behind the decline and explore what might be done to assist the young adults who we might call working-class today as they enter the labor market, have children, and form families.
