Inaugural Lecture: Andrew Shelton

Andrew Shelton, chair, History of Art, will present an Arts and Humanities Inaugural Lecture, "A Passion for Ingres".

The lecture will address the role of passion in both the production and reception of the art of the 19th-century French painter Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres. The talk will also preview an exhibition he will be curating at the Columbus Museum of Art for autumn 2015, Ingres's Passion: Raphael and the Fornarina.

The lecture is free and open to all. A reception will accompany the event.
