Tamara Jaeger’s technique of creating assemblages – an artistic process which consists of making three-dimensional works by combining various elements including wood, metal, ceramic and found objects and then hand embellishing them with paint, pastels, ink, charcoal or graphite – is unique, yet draws on artistic traditions dating back to the first Cubist constructions of Pablo Picasso in the early twentieth century. In Jaeger’s meticulously assembled compositions, one can see cultural references influenced and informed by her travels and study abroad. By incorporating found objects from the urban neighborhood in which she lives and maintains a studio, her work also reflects the vibrant, contemporary world around her.Jaeger graduated from Sarah Lawrence College with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
