Scarlet Winds and Friends present The Société moderne d'instruments à vent (Modern Society of Wind Instruments, 1895-1926): A Re-creation of Gems from the Repertoire, with guest scholar Nancy Toff. The concert celebrates the contributions of flutists Georges Barrère and Louis Fleury with commentary by Nancy Toff, author of Monarch of the Flute: The Life of Georges Barrère (Oxford University Press).  The selections are for various wind combinations, premiered by this Paris wind chamber music society.
