Tanya Saunders, Assistant Professor of African American and African Studies, will give the talk "Transnational Black Lesbian Politics and Hip Hop".Through a comparison of three feminist lesbian hip hop groups (one from Cuba, two from Brazil), this presentation explores hip hop’s place as a site of contemporary transnational feminist and LGBT activism.Co-sponsored by the Department of African American and African Studies.
