This session will be held in an Active Learning Classroom and use active learning methodologies to help participants identify ways that they can move their classes away from standard lectures toward a more active, student-centered experience. This session will be held in an Active Learning Classroom and use active learning methodologies to help participants identify ways that they can move their classes away from standard lectures toward a more active, student-centered experience. Active Learning Strategies for the Classroom is co-led by the University Center for the Advancement of Teaching (UCAT) as part of the Innovative Spaces Program, a comprehensive, campus-wide initiative to foster transformational teaching and learning in OSU’s innovative classrooms.  This collaboration between ODEE, UCAT, and the Office of the University Registrar was established to encourage greater focus on active learning pedagogy and more deliberate utilization of physical spaces.Instructors accepted to teach in Innovative Spaces are granted priority scheduling and receive training, support, and professional development opportunities.  This workshop is required for those accepted into the program, but also open to the general public and anyone interested in applying with a future course. To learn more or apply for your autumn 2016 class, go to http://u.osu.edu/innovativespaces/.Click to learn more / sign up online. 285 Baker Systems College of Arts and Sciences asccomm@osu.edu America/New_York public
