Cheeto Machine
Time: Gallery Hours
Event Host: The Arts Initiative
Short Description: Cheeto Machine by Tess Elliot is a machine built from re-appropriated and modified used appliances and recycled materials with the intention of extruding one continuous, never-ending cheese puff. There is nothing quite as hollow a satisfaction as eating a bag of cheese doodles.
Reception: Thursday, June 30, 2016, 3-4 p.m.Cheeto Machine by Tess Elliot is a machine built from re-appropriated and modified used appliances and recycled materials with the intention of extruding one continuous, never-ending cheese puff. There is nothing quite as hollow a satisfaction as eating a bag of cheese doodles. They are made of scant corn meal and air and covered in a artificial flavor loaded neon powder, a heightened sensory experience that leaves one feeling nauseated while craving more. Cheeto Machine is attempting to mimic this highly industrialized food process as a way to challenge our relationship to food, what it is made of and what it means to us.Gallery Hours:Tuesday - Friday: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
