Vernon Ave., Columbus, OH 43203. The Department of African American and African Studies will host a lecture by Michael Tillotson, assistant professor in the Department of Africana Studies, University of Pittsburgh, on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the AAAS Community Extension Center, 905 Mt. Vernon Ave., Columbus, OH 43203.  Professor Tillotson will speak on his book “The Invisible Jim Crow,” which investigates the contemporary effects of the imposition of the European worldview on the lives of African Americans. The book maintains that the imposition of the European worldview, which is imposed on African Americans through the operational ethos of American culture, has shifted the intra-racial social landscape of African Americans.  Invisible Jim Crow introduces the Doctrine of Wellness of Being as a Sankofan retrieval system designed to re-focus and return African Americans back to their original worldview constructs.This event is co-sponsored by the ADAMH (Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health) Board of Franklin County and is part of the Cultural Enrichment and Enhancement of Individual and Collective Health and Sustainable Well Being Initiative.  It is free and open to the public.  For more information, email twitty.1@osu.edu or visit the AAAS Community Extension Center.
