Please join us for Dr. Chambers’s interactive presentation, “Mentoring Doctoral Students for Non-Academic Careers.” She will underscore why this kind of support is so important and make practical recommendations for things faculty and career advisors can do to mentor and support graduate students who choose to pursue non-academic careers. Herself an English PhD (Ohio State, 2000), Dr. Chambers had a successful post-academic career as a grant writer before founding Versatile PhD in 2010 and building it into a leading web-based career resource for PhDs in the US and Canada. Her mission is to help graduate students and new PhDs envision, prepare for and excel in nonacademic careers.
