Poetry and Narrative: A Panel Discussion
Time: 3 p.m.
Event Host: Project Narrative
Short Description: Panel members from the English faculty, Kathy Fagan Grandinetti, Elizabeth Hewitt, Brian McHale and Jacob Risinger, discuss the intersection of poetry and narrative.
Panel members from the English faculty, Kathy Fagan Grandinetti, Elizabeth Hewitt, Brian McHale and Jacob Risinger, discuss the intersection of poetry and narrative. Storytelling and verse have a long and distinguished history together. But poetry (especially lyric) often chooses not to be narrative; it can even be hostile to narrative. When and how might we want poetry and narrative to intersect, or go their separate ways? How do we explore these intersections and separations in our teaching, research and understanding of these pillars of the literary? For more information visit Project Narrative.
