The Arts Initiative presents a panel discussion with the exhibition, Open This End: Contemporary Art from the Collection of Blake Byrne featuring a selection of work from renowned artists spanning the past 50 years, including works by Andy Warhol, Gerhard Richter and Mike Kelley. The exhibition includes examples of contemporary video and new media art such as Jimmy Carter (2002) by Jennifer Seinkamp at Hopkins Hall Gallery. This panel will address the development of video and new media in contemporary American and European art in the last 50 years.
Panel discussion featuring: Roger Beebe, Associate Professor, Department of Art; Vera Brunner-Sung, Assistant Professor, Department of Theatre; and Kris Paulsen, Assistant Professor, Department of History of Art and Department of Film Studies.
