Alumna Named "Emerging Arts Leader" in Central Ohio

Erin Hoppe was honored with the Emerging Arts Leader Award in central Ohio by the Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC). Hoppe, who earned a master's degree in arts policy and administration through Ohio State's Department of Arts Administration, Education and Policy in 2008, received the award October 17 at a luncheon where GCAC's Community Arts Partnership Awards were presented. Other awards went to an arts educator, arts partner, business arts leaders, along with one for artistic excellence.

At Ohio State, Hoppe was active in student arts advocacy organizations and interned for the Ohio Alliance for Arts Education and Ohio Citizens for the Arts, as well as working closely with the Wexner Center for the Arts. Following graduation, she became executive director of VSA Ohio, a well-known source for arts education programming and for resources for artists of all ages with disabilities. She also serves on the board for Citizens for the Arts.
