Cheng Zhang, who earned an MFA in design, studies at ACCAD and is completing a PhD in computer science engineering, has been awarded a Science Visualization Fellowship at NASA, starting in January. The fellowship is a yearlong position designed to nurture emerging data visualizers who wish to explore the intersection of science and art through science storytelling. Cheng’s thesis project at Ohio State was the Moon Experience, an award-winning virtual reality system based on the historic Apollo program. Her thesis advisor was Alan Price, associate professor, design.
