Dear Colleagues—

One of my greatest pleasures these past six months has been the opportunity to meet and work with many of you in our great arts and sciences family—faculty and staff—students and alumni.

I am energized by your commitment to the mission and goals of our outstanding college and your love of our great university. I look forward to working with you in the New Year.

One of the best perks of my job is the chance to interact with our students—from the Student Involvement Fair in August—to other events throughout the year.

How can I begin to describe how impressed I am with our students? I talk with them; and quickly I am convinced that the world is in very good hands! I look forward to even more interactions with our students over the coming months.

I wish each and every one of you the happiest of holidays and the hope that you draw inspiration—as I do—from the joy that shines on our students’ faces. I can think of no image that better captures the spirit of this season or the promise of the arts and sciences at Ohio State.
