Nena Couch Receives Distinguished Service Award

Nena Couch, professor and curator of the Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee Theatre Research Institute, has been honored with the 2012 Award for Distinguished Service in Performing Arts Librarianship by the Theatre Library Association. The award is given each year to an individual who has made extraordinary contributions to the field.

For more than 30 years, Couch has served the performing arts library and archives community as a curator, faculty member, and writer. She has published numerous books and arrticles on theatre and dance, including the Theatre Library Association publication that she co-edited, Documenting: Lighting Design.

The Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee Theatre Research Institute serves as an archive for performers, playwrights, choreographers, designers, producing organizations, and theatre and dance companies, among others, and advances the study and inspiration of the performing arts.
