New Book Analyzes the Ramifications of Overfishing

Mansel G. Blackford, professor emeritus of history, is the author of a new book, Making Seafood Sustainable: American Experiences in Global Perspective, a look at how fishers, seafood processors, retailers, and government officials have worked together to respond to the crisis of overfishing. The work argues that while the economic and social costs incurred in achieving sustainable resource usage are significant, there are ways to mitigate them.
