Stream: Outdoor Contemporary Dance Performances

The Department of Dance, in collaboration with Dublin Arts Council and OhioDance, along with the University of Akron Dance Program and Ohio Department of Education Division of the Arts, presents Stream, an original, site-specific, outdoor contemporary dance project.

Choreographer Robin Prichard, assistant professor, University of Akron, is collaborating with dance students from Ohio State and the University of Akron. A public dress rehearsal will take place at 11 am on Friday, September 14, and performances are slated for 6:30 pm on Friday, September 14, and Saturday, September 15, all on the sloping, riverfront grounds of the Dublin Arts Council, 7125 Riverside Dr. All events are free; the Friday events will be streamed online.

In taking dance out of the traditional theatrical venue, Stream places the audience directly in relationship to the natural world, and asks them to reimagine their place within it. Stream seeks to foster a sense of interconnectedness— between the performers and the audience, between the audience and the land, and among the individual audience members. The performances are approximately 40 minutes.
