ASC Nonprofit Advisory Committee
On March 2, 2007, leaders from Columbus area nonprofit organizations met with Ohio State arts and sciences faculty and administrators to explore what a mutually beneficial partnership among nonprofits and the Colleges of the Arts and Sciences might look like. Ohio State's interest in partnering with nonprofits is to:
Help us serve our students by expanding opportunities for them to learn about nonprofit organizations as possible careers through courses and internships
Help create partnerships based on equality between Ohio State and the Columbus community in multiple ways, e.g., Board of Directors' relationships and research and teaching (on both sides).
Those of us at Ohio State believe that the current interest across the university in developing community partnerships offers us all an opportunity to do some new and exciting work, work that those on campus and leaders of nonprofits can all have a voice in creating.
