Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Research Scholarships
For students who have attained junior standing and meet one of the following criteria: be a potential candidate for graduation with research distinction; or present other evidence of work on a significant research project. The scholarships, which range from $500 to approximately $9,000, may be allocated over summer, autumn, winter and spring quarters. The funds automatically will go toward the payment of university tuition and fees,with any remainder being available to recipients after the fifth week of the quarter. Applicants are required to have a faculty sponsor with whom they work to devise and refine a proposal, and who will be responsible for overseeing the project once it is underway. The faculty project advisor will also assist the student with writing the mid-project progress report to be submitted to the Honors Office. Applications are available in the Honors Office, 207 Enarson Hall. The deadlines for applications are October 21, 2011 and April 6, 2012 by 5:00 P.M. Application information and application form.
The Aida Cannarsa Snow Endowment Fund for Significant Undergraduate Achievement and Research in the Arts & Humanities Program, 2011-2012
The Aida Cannarsa Snow Endowment fund program is designed to enhance opportunities for undergraduate students in Arts & Humanities to pursue and promote significant accomplishments in their fields of study. These grants offer financial support on a competitive basis and will range from $1500 to $3000. Applications are reviewed in February, and April; grants will be given as cash awards to each student’s tuition account. Priority is given to applicants with demonstrated financial need.
Eligibility: Grants are restricted to currently enrolled undergraduate students majoring in a Department/School in Arts & Humanities. Applications are considered from individual students and small groups as appropriate. Students are eligible for an Aida Cannarsa Snow Endowment grant once a year. Requests to support research or creative activity focused study abroad will be considered for support through this grant.

Kathryn Sullivan Scholarship
This scholarship supports undergraduate Arts and Sciences students with a preference for junior or senior women who are majoring or minoring in the sciences, who have a passion for exploration and/or aerospace, and who are in good academic standing; however, this scholarship may be awarded to any candidate in any Arts and Sciences major. This fund will enable a student to perform undergraduate research, field work, or attend/present at a significant conference. Application information and application form.
