Undergraduate Student International Travel Grants

General Focus: to encourage the international travel of students in connection with study, research, internships, and service that has been approved by their departments. Priority is given to students who have not been previously funded by the OED for international travel.

Deadline: Applications may be submitted at any time during the academic year.

Application Process: Individual students in the arts and sciences may apply for International Travel Grants online. When several individual applicants are traveling together through a course or special program, the instructor of the course or program director may submit an application collectively on behalf of eligible student travelers. Information provided should:

  • Indicate funding status (whether the student is a recipient of previous OED funding for international travel).
  • Provide a short description of the nature of the travel experience and the anticipated impact on/connection to learning and academic preparation.
  • Provide a detailed budget.
  • Indicate sources of matching funding (scholarship, departmental grant, personal savings, etc.).
  • Have the department chair or department/program advisor send an e-mail endorsement of your project to the director of student and alumni programs.

Submission Process: Please e-mail the International Travel Grant form and any supporting documents to ascopportunities@osu.edu.

Contact Person:
Ann Rottersman, Director of Student and Alumni Programs, rottersman.1@osu.edu

Selection Process: With a completed application, grants are awarded on a first come, first served basis until all funds are expended.

Funding: The expectation is that this fund will support approximately 120 individual students at $500 each in matching funds.
