Science Sundays: "The Enemy of My Enemy is My Friend: How Viruses are Being Used to Fight Superbugs"

Through the lens of her family’s personal experience with a deadly superbug infection, Steffanie Strathdee’s presentation will discuss the medical history of viruses that attack bacteria and how they have been used to treat superbug infections for over 100 years. This presentation on April 21 will discuss why bacteriophage therapy fell out of favor in the West and cover recent advances in phage therapy that led to the founding of the first dedicated phage therapy institute in North America.
