For the safety of our communities during the COVID-19 pandemic, summer orientation programs for students entering autumn 2020 semester will be delivered remotely.
If you are an incoming Arts and Sciences Honors student and you are not majoring in art, dance, design or music, please visit the Arts and Sciences Honors orientation webpage.
What to expect:
You will receive an email from us with detailed instructions and information at least one week prior to your orientation program. You will be invited to participate in an orientation Carmen course with fellow first-year students in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Carmen course is where you will access advising information.
We will be meeting with you twice during your orientation session:
Question and Answer Session on Day One
On day one of your orientation session at 2:00 p.m. (EDT), we will have a mandatory Q&A session with your advisor or department. You will receive a separate email with instructions on how to join the meeting or appointment before your orientation session. Please attend this session even if you do not have specific questions, as we will check in with you and give more details about your scheduling appointment the following day.
Advising Appointment on Day Two
On day two of your orientation session, you will meet one-on-one with your advisor to finalize your schedule, register for courses and talk about any remaining questions you have. You will receive a separate email with your appointment time and instructions on how to join the meeting or appointment before your orientation session. In preparation for orientation, please make sure to check your Ohio State email frequently, gather your academic records and review the information in your orientation Carmen course and orientation.osu.edu.
We can’t wait to meet you at orientation!
