After more than a year of hard work, we unveiled our new website this August! The new site is more student-centered while also sharing the vibrant life of our college and connecting with our college community.
This year, our incoming students are part of the best-prepared, most diverse, record-setting class in Ohio State’s history: 28.9 ACT average; 62% graduating in top 10% of their class.
Ann Hamilton, Distinguished University Professor, and professor, Department of Art, who is internationally recognized for the sensory surrounds of her large-scale multi-media installations, has been named a recipient of the 2014 National Medal of Arts.

The Department of English is hosting a celebration of alumni creative writers — and of the Creative Writing Program at Ohio State, Friday-Sunday, Oct. 2-4, 2015. We hear the word "sustainability" almost every day. It’s in the news, it’s even in commercials. It’s a sales pitch, a warning, a prescription and an aspiration. But what exactly do we mean by sustainability and is it something we can actually achieve?
“Bree” the Bee was instrumental in inspiring a group of central Ohio school girls over the summer. The group of 7th and 8th grade female students created animated films, about a honeybee, during a free, two-week digital animation program, sponsored by the Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD) at Ohio State.
To date, many of our 200,000 arts and sciences alumni and friends of the college have invested in the College of Arts and Sciences because they believe in extraordinary work being done by its faculty, staff and students. Because of their generosity and continuing support, the college has surpassed its $200 million But for Ohio State Campaign goal!
