Building Cultural Legacies and Financial Wealth

May 14, 2015
All Day
905 Mt. Vernon Ave., Columbus, OH, 43203

Event Host: AAAS Community Extension Center

Kwame Christian Esq. M.A., attorney whose practice focuses on estate planning and business law and Desmond Ervin, financial planner whose practice focuses on building financial security for individuals and businesses, present "Building Cultural Legacies and Financial Wealth."

The goal of this seminar is to strengthen the attendees’ understanding of estate and financial planning. Families want to create a legacy for their future generations, but most don’t know how to accomplish this endeavor.

Although the racial education gap has narrowed, the wealth gap has increased. “The wealth of white households was 13 times the median wealth of black households in 2013, compared with eight times the wealth in 2010, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis.” This is due in large part to intergenerational transfers of wealth.

In this session, information will be presented to empower attendees to make lifestyle changing decisions. An array of topics and practical applications will be covered that will add immediate value to the attendees’ current situation. An open dialogue on, but not exclusive to, the following topics will be addressed: Wills, trusts, powers of attorneys, health care powers of attorneys, budgeting, risk management, retirement planning, college planning and basic investment strategies. People don’t plan to fail, they fail to plan.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the AAAS Community Extension Center website.
