Add to Calendar 2015-02-11 05:00:00 2015-05-07 03:00:00 Kimono Exhibit Event Host: Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures Mari Noda, professor of Japanese, curated the latest exhibit at Hagerty Hall’s Global Gallery, “Kimono: Blending of Different Cultures with Japanese Tradition.” In part tribute to her mother’s love of kimono and the craftsmanship that supports the kimono industry, the exhibit presents a brief history of kimono fashion, including contemporary use. It presents samples of prominent arts and crafts from various parts of Japan and illustrates putting on a kimono, a process that is not second nature to most young Japanese.For more information, visit the DEALL website.
