Symphony Orchestra Concerto Concert
This concert spotlights student composer-in-residence Justin Monroe and several concerto soloists selected by competition. The ensemble will perform the world premiere of Monroe's work, The Way They Face. Student soloists and selections on this program include Vincente Quach, cello, Adagio con variazioni, Ottorino Respighi; Nathan Jeoung, violin, Tzigane, op. 20, Maurice Ravel; Sean Bauman, alto sax, Legende, op. 66, Florent Schmitt; Katie Sharp, Flute Concerto, movement 1, Carl Nielsen; Darren Templeton, bass, "Non piu' andrai" from The Marriage of Figaro, W. A. Mozart.
Miriam Burns, conductor; Malik Khalfani, guest conductor.
