Pomerene Hall

Adjacent to Mirror Lake, Pomerene Hall is a tall, majestic stone and brick structure resembling a medieval castle.

Mirror Lake Creamery & Grill is located in the building – look for the concrete ice-cream cone just outside its doors. The grill is an authentic ice cream parlor that also serves sandwiches. There is indoor and patio seating.

The Department of History of Art has offices on the first, second and third floors. The department’s library is located on the second floor as well as access to the building’s rooftop seating area, which overlooks Mirror Lake.

The department is “home” to the Visual Resources Library, an online digital media resource representing world art, archaeology and architecture from prehistoric periods to the present; the Jack Balcer Image Archive, a collection of 30,000 slides and 5,000 digital images of Athenian Empire, Greek and Roman Numismatics and the Persian Empire and the Ann Hamilton Archive.
