Short Description: The Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies cordially invites you to attend the second lecture of their 2020-2021 lecture series, which will also serve as the keynote lecture for this year's CMRS symposium, Virtual/Digital Archaeology: Places, Buildings and Environments.

This one-day symposium explores the ways in which our understanding of the Medieval and Renaissance worlds can be enriched by innovative Digital Humanities projects. Three speakers will show how interactive technologies like virtual mapping and digital reconstruction can help us and our students engage in creative and dynamic ways with the religious buildings and urban environments of the past.

The symposium's keynote lecture by Janelle Jenstad, associate professor of English at the University of Victoria, will discuss â€śWalking through Time: Textual Archaeology and the Map of Early Modern London." This will also be the second lecture of the 2020-2021 lecture series.
