Collaborative @OSU Writing Retreat
Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with light refreshments from 9:30-10 a.m.
Event Host: Collaborative @OSU and the Writing Center
Short Description: The Collaborative @OSU will host a free on-campus writing retreat July 10-11, 2017 in the 18th Avenue Library Research Commons. The retreat will be facilitated by the Writing Center and has been designed to support the work and personal wellness of all Ohio State scholars whose research is focused on advancing knowledge on the lives of women and girls of color.
The Collaborative @OSU will host a free on-campus writing retreat July 10-11, 2017 in the 18th Avenue Library Research Commons. The retreat will be facilitated by the Writing Center and has been designed to support the work and personal wellness of all Ohio State scholars whose research is focused on advancing knowledge on the lives of women and girls of color.This retreat will provide a supportive space for scholars to complete work, network and relax. Participants will also be provided with a variety of writing and wellness resources to help alleviate some of the common stressors associated with the writing process. More specifically, participants will have access to:Quiet, uninterrupted time to focus and write in a calm, nurturing and encouraging environmentWriting center consultants available for one-on-one consultationsGoal setting exercises and guidanceWriting wellness tips and exercises to address perfectionist tendenciesOpportunities to share work with othersLight pastries, coffee and teas will be provided from 9:30-10 a.m. The retreat will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.Eligibility: All Ohio State scholars — faculty, post-docs, graduate students and staff — working on research related to advancing the lives of women and girls of color.RSVP: Participants must RSVP by Monday, July 3.
