Short Description: Theatre director Iqbal Khan, whose recent Royal Shakespeare Company productions of "Antony and Cleopatra," "Much Ado About Nothing," and "Othello" have won worldwide recognition and excitement, will speak at the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies at Ohio State on Feb. 26 at 1 p.m.


Theatre director Iqbal Khan, whose recent Royal Shakespeare Company productions of "Antony and Cleopatra," "Much Ado About Nothing," and "Othello" have won worldwide recognition and excitement, will speak at the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies at Ohio State on Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. Khan will lecture on “The Problematic Privilege of Interpreting the Bard" and discuss the constellation of ideas around Shakespeare and the construction of systems of power — and the construction of identity. This lecture, followed by a Q&A, will interest anyone thinking about literature, theatre and the arts; race, migration and belonging; construction and exercise of power; and of course all readers, teachers and students of Shakespeare. All are welcome.
