Ethics Event: "Maximin: A Giving Game"

February 22, 2018
All Day
247 University Hall

Time: 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Event Host: Center for Ethics and Human Values

Are you tired of hearing how much suffering is in the world? Want to make the world a better place by eating FREE pizza?

A Giving Game is an incredible opportunity we offer to students, faculty, and the Columbus community. It’s a method of educating the community on charitable giving by employing “experiential philanthropy.” Participants learn and are empowered to take action by giving away real money to real charities.

Every person in attendance is given $10 to donate at the beginning of the workshop. The group is then presented with 3 of the most carefully-curated and highly effective charities concerned with global health, opportunity for education, and community empowerment/economic development. We spend the workshop discussing the benefits to the world that each organization has to offer and talk through the dynamic complexities of charitable giving itself. At the end of the workshop, one charity is voted on by the group and the money is donated directly to that awesome charity. FREE Adriatico's pizza will be provided AND you get the opportunity to do some good in the world.

Join us in our mission to maximize the minimum!
