Short Description: The Center for Applied Plant Sciences and the Arabidopsis Biological Resource Center are supporting sponsors of this year's Farm Days at COSI. Faculty, staff and students will be on site at COSI from 10:00-3:00 p.m. each day of the event.
The Center for Applied Plant Sciences and the Arabidopsis Biological Resource Center are supporting sponsors of this year's Farm Days at COSI. Faculty, staff and students will be on site at COSI from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day of the event. The CAPS/ABRC station will include a variety of hands-on activities and displays highlighting some of the research being conducted by the CAPS teams, and demonstrating the important role plant science plays in agriculture.
This is the eleventh year for the event, which brings life on the farm into the city. Other event experiences include large farm equipment, livestock demonstrations, a pedal tractor obstacle course, opportunities to talk with farmers, crafts and games. The event is free for COSI members or with paid daily admission.
This event is just one of many ways in which CAPS and ABRC are building a partnership with COSI. Other collaborations with COSI include Backyard Science Day, the annual Teacher Resource Fair, and the development of a new interactive video conferencing program designed to engage middle and high school students in a hands-on explorations of plant science.
