Time: 3:15 p.m.
Event Host: Department of English, Office of Diversity and Inclusion

Artist Michael Thiele, Founder of Hardwood Music Company (Flagstaff, AZ), will be speaker and honoree of the inaugural “Iconconoclasts & Visionaries” series. The event takes place on Wednesday, November 28 — 3:15 p.m., informal pre-talk performance and open session and 4-5 p.m., guest speaker.

Series co-founders, Cathy Ryan (Department of English, The STEAM Factory) and Lawrence Williamson (Office of Diversity and Inclusion), saw the opportunity to spark students’ imagination by bringing iconoclasts and visionaries to campus and honoring those who inspire us through their artistic achievements.  Attendees may experiment with select drums, which are hand crafted in a variety of acoustically fine hardwoods and tuned to any key. Every drum maintains the same “approachability” and “playability” when played by professionals, like Ben Harper, or non-musicians. There will be light refreshments and Q&A.
