Time: 4:30 p.m.
Event Host: Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures

In a present time of accelerating, anthropogenically driven climate change, "environmental humanities" articulates the need to situate study of the environment in locations in addition to science departments. This talk explores two case studies for environmental humanities research across the arts and sciences. The first aims to understand urban waterways as archives and considers how to create their digital counterparts; the second considers climate and environmental data as lively: metrics that describe living worlds and shape their life chances.
