Let’s Make Monotypes! with Sara Hess

Instructor: Sara Hess, First-Year MFA Candidate, Department of Art
Participants: 15 per session

In this workshop, participants will explore monotype and pressure print processes using the three etching presses in the OSU Print Shop. As a group, participants will work collaboratively to build transparent layers of texture, pattern, color, drawing and stenciled shapes. CMYK will be introduced as a method for building a variety of tone and color. These full-sized sheets can then be folded into simple zine structures or cut down for book-making material during future workshops.

The Summer 2022 OSU Print Shop Workshops are FREE and open to the public thanks to generous funding from the Ohio State Arts and Humanities Dean’s Discretionary Funds. These funds support faculty led engagement and outreach work that connects scholarship, teaching and service with communities outside of Ohio State.
