Event Host: ASC Career Success
The School of Music and the Arts and Sciences Center for Career and Professional Success are hosting Life Beyond Degree: School of Music, a two-part series planned exclusively for all majors in the School of Music.
Join us Monday, March 25 from 4:30 - 6:00 pm in 109 Hughes Hall for Life Beyond Degree School of Music, Part 1: Network with Impact, an interactive presentation where you’ll learn best practices and effective strategies for networking.
This engaging workshop will help you understand the characteristics of a good elevator pitch and why it's necessary. You’ll learn how to incorporate the career readiness competencies into your elevator pitch and have the opportunity to prepare and practice your own. You will then be equipped to implement the strategies learned in this workshop when connecting with alumni during Life Beyond Degree School of Music, Part 2: Mix and Mingle with School of Music Alumni. Additional content covered during Part 1 includes utilizing social media to connect with alumni and employers.
Life Beyond Degree (LBD) events support students in the Discovery Phase by increasing their awareness of career options and career readiness competencies (CRCs) through interactions with alumni and other Career Success Champions.
