Event Host: The Ohio State University
Registration is now open for the Second Language Research Forum, an important international conference taking place at Ohio State (for the first time) this Oct. 12-15. This year’s theme, “Growing Connections in Second Language Research”, focuses on links between disciplines and traditions, from sociolinguistic, psycholinguistic, and neurocognitive approaches to computer mediated communication. Collaboration can lead to rich insights and facilitate a better understanding of the problematics at play in second language teaching, learning, and use. Interdisciplinarity of this sort is beginning to bridge the gaps amongst methodologies and making it easier to promote understanding of how languages are learned. This four-day conference will include plenary talks by well-known scholars including Dr. Lourdes Ortega, Dr. Kara Morgan-Short, Dr. Brian MacWhinney, and Dr. Patricia Duff. Registration is only $15 for OSU students and faculty.
