Short Description: In this workshop, participants will consider the actions and habits that constitute responsible and ethical information access, sharing and use.
What are responsible and ethical information practices? How can we teach students to become responsible and ethical information consumers and information creators? In this workshop, participants will consider the actions and habits that constitute responsible and ethical information access, sharing and use. Participants will learn about strategies and resources that they can incorporate into their teaching practices to help students develop responsible and ethical information practices.
This workshop aligns with the expected learning outcomes for GE Foundations courses:
- Writing & Information Literacy: Employ reflective and critical strategies to evaluate and select credible and relevant information sources
This workshop is open to all faculty, instructors, graduate teaching associates and staff at Ohio State. Those teaching or developing GE courses with information literacy learning outcomes are especially encouraged to attend. Non-Ohio State affiliated participants are also welcome.
For eligible participants, attendance at the workshop can count toward completion of the Teaching Information Literacy teaching endorsement through the Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning.
