Graduate Student a Finalist for Rose Brand Scholarship

Marni Balint – who is working on her MFA in set design in the Department of Theatre – is one of 10 finalists for the national Rose Brand Scholarship, which grants a $5,000 scholarship to an individual and a Rose Brand credit of $2,500 for their school.  The 10 finalists represent undergraduate and graduate students in scenic design from across the country; a panel of industry experts will choose the winner, to be announced in March. Rose Brand is North America’s largest provider of theatrical fabrics, custom stage drapery, custom sewn creations, and production supplies.

Balint said she is “quite excited” about the scholarship opportunity. “I would hopefully use the money to travel and help with my research, which I will be doing with the Theatre Research Institute this summer,” she added.
