Partisan conflict can be largely explained as differing views on two crucial tasks of society, according to a new theory developed by a pair of prominent social scientists. In a new article published in the journal Psychological Inquiry, Roy Baumeister, professor of psychology at the University of Queensland, and Brad Bushman, professor of communication, say societies flourish by both amassing and distributing resources.
