Suzanne Mikos, human resources and fiscal manager, Department of French and Italian, and Ohio State alumna (BA, Russian, international studies and criminology, 2001; BA, political science, 2007) is author of several urban fantasy and paranormal romance books. She writes under the nom de plume, Suzanne M. Sabol. She started writing in high school and has been writing ever since.

Mikos’ first book, Cursed, was published in 2009. In July 2012 her second novel, Pool of Crimson, the first book in her Blushing Death Series, was published. Pool of Crimson features heroine Dahlia, a killer of the undead, and Columbus, Ohio, as the backdrop.

In an interview last summer with Night Owl Reviews, Mikos described her passion for writing and the long and winding road she took to get to the point of putting pen to paper.

“When I was 8, I wanted to be an astronaut. When I was 13, I wanted to be an opera singer. By the time I was 18, I wanted to be a famous international lawyer. I'm not very interested in science and that's kind of a necessity (to be an astronaut). I don't have the range to be an opera singer. I think I would have made a good lawyer that just didn't pan out. I like writing better anyway. I've always told stories to my friends and lived in my own head so this is better.”

Mikos’ newest book, Midnight Ash, set in the supernatural world and in the middle of a territorial vampire war, is the second book in the Blushing Death Series, and set to be released on January 23, 2013 by Soul Mate Publishing.

Mikos is currently a graduate student in the John Glenn School of Public Affairs.
