Have you been looking for an opportunity to contribute to positive change on our campus? Do you enjoy presenting and interacting with diverse groups of faculty, staff and students? Do you believe that education and conversation can erase the stigma surrounding suicide and mental health concerns?
REACH is the OSU Suicide Prevention training program designed to help the Ohio State community prevent suicide by teaching faculty, staff and students how to:
- Recognize warning signs
- Engage with empathy
- Ask directly about suicide
- Communicate hope
- Help suicidal individuals to access care and treatment
Anyone can help prevent suicide by learning the risks, warning signs and how to intervene. Learn more.
In order to support our goal of training 5,000 faculty, staff and students between July 2015 and May 2017, OSU Suicide Prevention is expanding our group of certified REACH Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Trainers. We are seeking interested staff and faculty members who are able to complete a 4-hour training, and then provide a minimum of four REACH trainings per academic year.
