Following in the wake of two previously successful iterations in 2012 and 2014, Queer Places, Practices, and Lives III marks the third gathering of scholars, activists, students, educators, and community members involved with LGBTQ studies, culture, and politics. The conference features 30 panels and workshops; an opening keynote address by Dr. Mel Y. Chen; a welcome reception; and a closing keynote event consisting of a screening of the documentary Major! followed by a conversation with the subject of the film, queer trans movement originator Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, who will be joined by Ohio activists for Black trans women’s liberation Elle Hearns and Wriply Bennet. For more information visit the Department of Sexuality Studies.
